Fresno, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance Jr. and Derek Cooke Jr. both supplied double-doubles in No. 25 Wyomings 70-65 triple-overtime win over Fresno State on Saturday night. Nance led the Cowboys with 21 points while pulling down 11 rebounds, while Cooke tallied 12 points and 15 boards. Josh Adams chipped in 16 points for Wyoming (16-3, 5-1 MWC), which bounced back from its 60-52 home loss to San Diego State earlier in the week. Paul Watson had 19 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-10, 4-2), who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Marvelle Harris and Cezar Guerrero finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the loss. Halfway through the third overtime, Harris tied it up at 65-65 with a jumper. Nance gave the Cowboys the lead for good on a basket with just over a minute left. Julien Lewis missed from beyond the arc at the other end before Charles Hankerson Jr. sealed it with a triple to account for the final margin. That was a hard-fought game for both teams, said Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt. Every time we got together, after a miss or a make, I reminded them to put pressure on your defense. Put pressure on your defensive rebounds. Im thrilled we finished on the high end of it. Much like the second half, neither team could shake one another in the second overtime. Riley Grabau converted a jumper to give the Cowboys a 61-59 lead, then Guerrero missed a 3-pointer at the other end. Hankerson missed a pair of free throws, though, with 24 seconds left. Guerrero tied the game with a jumper in the closing seconds, but he committed a foul of Nance with a second remaining. Nance could not hit one from the line, however, and the game went to a third overtime. Nance hit two free throws in the final minute of the first overtime to push the Cowboys ahead by two, but Harris answered with a layup from Guerrero to tie the game and send it to another session. Watsons dunk gave the Bulldogs a 33-32 lead at the 15-minute mark of the second half, then Wyoming went on an elongated 6-0 run. Nance capped it with two straight buckets as Fresno State was held scoreless for six minutes. Watson ended up hitting a 3-pointer that pushed the Bulldogs back in front, 41-40, with just under seven minutes remaining. The Cowboys were held scoreless for over four minutes until Hankerson nailed a 3-pointer to keep the back-and-forth battle going. Lewis knocked down 1-of-2 from the line to cut the deficit to 43-42. Guerrero missed a pair of free throws the next time down the floor for the Bulldogs. Nance then split two free throws to make it a two-point game with under a minute left, but his foul led to Alex Davis free throws that tied it at 44-44. Nance missed a jumper in the closing seconds and the game went to overtime. Wyoming made shots at the end and we didnt, said Fresno State coach Rodney Terry. We had great open looks. They threw one or two in and we didnt. Any time you lose a game at this level at home its always difficult to swallow a loss. Nances layup at the midway point of the first put Wyoming up 13-12. Guerrero followed with a jumper that kicked off a 9-2 spurt for the Bulldogs. Fresno State was held to just one field goal over the final seven minutes of the half, however, and the Cowboys ended up with a 26-23 lead at the break. Game Notes Wyoming shot 44.6 percent from the floor and held the Bulldogs to 35.7 percent shooting ... Each team shot 57 percent from the free throw line ... Then the first-place Cowboys (10-4) head to the nations capital a week later for their season finale.Philadelphia holds the tiebreaker over Dallas, but thats moot if the Cowboys win out. The Eagles have lost two in a row and could very well end up with 11 wins and no trip to the playoffs, even though their record would be at least three games better than the winner of NFC South. If we win 11 games and its not good enough to get in, shame on us because we didnt win the right games, Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly said. Thats the bottom line. Thats what this whole deal is all about, and we know it going in.Few are expecting much resistance from the Redskins (3-11), who have lost six straight and just made their fifth starting quarterback change this season. Theyve lost their past three games by 22, 24 and 11 points. But strange things sometimes happen: Washingtons signature win this year came on a Monday night in October at Dallas, and the Redskins top offensive output came when they gained 427 yards in a 37-34 loss at Philadelphia in September.Weve got to play in a crucial situation, and somebodys got to rise above it and make a play. Unfortunately, we were unable to do that against Philadelphia, first-year Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. It was obviously a very good game, but we came out on the short end of the stick, which isnt good enough.Heres more to notice as the teams convene on the last Saturday before Christmas, when disgruntled, gone-shopping Redskins fans will leave more room in the stadium than usual for the familiar vocal contingent from Philly:QB TRIALS: Mark Sanchez knows what its like to be hurt, and what its like to have people questioning his competence. Maybe Robert Griffin III could use him as a role model.Sanchez has had a revival of sorts in Philadelphia after four challenging years with the New York Jets. Hes kept the Eagles afloat as the starting quarterback while Nick Foles recovers from a broken collarbone.Win, lose or draw, I am in a great opportunity and I cant ever forget that, how fun this is, Sanchez said. And usually when I am feeling like that, I am playying pretty well.ddddddddddddQB TRIALS, PART 2: That said, Sanchez needs to do more than just keep the Eagles afloat if theyre to repeat as NFC East champs. Hes 3-3 as a starter with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. In fact, Philadelphias team passer rating (82.6) is substantially lower than the Redskins (89.9).Griffin regains the job in Washington after Colt McCoy was placed on injured reserve this week with a sprained neck. Gruden hasnt set the bar particularly high, citing Griffins ongoing struggles to get a grasp on the fundamentals of drop-back passing.I dont expect perfection from him, Gruden said. But we want to see improvement.THE SEASON FOR GIVING: The Eagles have a league-leading 34 turnovers this season after giving the ball away just 19 times in 2013.A costly fumble by tight end Brent Celek was the turning point in Sundays loss to Dallas, and Sanchez ranks last in the NFL in interception percentage. We have to take ownership of this thing, and it starts with the quarterback, Sanchez said. I have to be a lot better.A TIMELESS STRATEGY: The Eagles held the ball for only 18 minutes each in consecutive losses to Seattle and Dallas, which means their defence has been on the field for 84 of 120 minutes in the past two weeks.Of course, Kellys up-tempo, no-huddle system has never translated into a ball-control offence, but holding the ball for a total of 36:09 in two games is taking things beyond the extreme.Still, the coach insists he cares more about the number of plays rather than the amount of time they take up.The time of possession thing, I dont understand that concept, Kelly said.SACK CITY: Griffin might want some extra padding. The Eagles have 47 sacks, second-most in the league. Linebacker Connor Barwin leads the way with an NFC-leading 14 1/2.The Redskins have been sacked 53 times, second-most in NFL. Theyve allowed at least five sacks in six straight games. Griffin has been taken down on 16 per cent of his pass plays, the most for any quarterback with at least 100 drop-backs.A lot of people want to pin it on the line, some people want to pin it on the quarterback, the offensive co-ordinator, the head coach, whatever, Gruden said. But its a combination of things.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org___Follow Joseph White on Twitter: http://twitter.com/JGWhiteAPCheap Buffalo Sabres GearWholesale Calgary Flames JerseysCheap Adidas Colorado Avalanche JerseysMontreal Canadiens Outlet StoreWholesale New Jersey Devils JerseysAdidas Arizona Coyotes JerseysCheap Adidas Boston Bruins JerseysCheap Adidas Carolina Hurricanes JerseysChicago Blackhawks Shop Free ShippingWholesale Columbus Blue Jackets JerseysDallas Stars Shop Free ShippingCheap Adidas Detroit Red Wings JerseysAnaheim Ducks Jerseys ChinaWholesale Edmonton Oilers JerseysFlorida Panthers Shop Free ShippingWholesale Los Angeles Kings JerseysMinnesota Wild Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Nashville Predators JerseysCheap Adidas New York Islanders JerseysNew York Rangers Winter Classic JerseysCheap Adidas Ottawa Senators JerseysCheap Adidas Philadelphia Flyers JerseysWholesale Pittsburgh Penguins JerseysCheap Adidas San Jose Sharks JerseysSt. Louis Blues Winter Classic JerseysWholesale Tampa Bay Lightning JerseysToronto Maple Leafs Outlet StoreVancouver Canucks Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Vegas Golden Knights JerseysCheap Adidas Washington Capitals JerseysCheap Adidas Winnipeg Jets Jerseys ' ' '
