SEATTLE -- Landon Donovan pushed himself early in the season so he was ready for the international stage. When he was left off the United States roster for the World Cup, there was an understandable letdown in Donovans performance for the Los Angeles Galaxy. "I really pushed myself to be playing well in April and May this year and I was, and I just dropped off a little bit and its important for me to get back to that," Donovan said. "Again, this is only one night. Its got to continue and thats whats expected of me and thats what I expect of myself." Donovan started finding that form again on Monday night, assisting on two goals and scoring one in Los Angeles impressive 3-0 win over the Seattle Sounders. Donovan assisted on Gyasi Zardes goal in the eighth minute, scored off a rebound 10 minutes later and picked up a second assist on Stefan Ishizakis goal in the 36th minute as the Galaxy won for the fourth time in six matches and just as theyre getting their roster together again. Monday was the first time Omar Gonzalez played for the Galaxy since May 3 and Robbie Rogers returned after missing the last two games. "Were just beginning to get our team on the field," Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. "Weve gone through a half a season of misery dealing with the injuries and absences. Hopefully we can get a little more of a solidified unit." The Western Conference-leading Sounders suffered one of their worst home MLS losses in franchise history. Seattle lost 4-1 last season at home to Vancouver. The worst home defeat was 4-0 to Los Angeles in 2010 that prompted Sounders management to offer refunds to fans. Seattle had won four of its previous five MLS matches and had a six-game home win streak, but was playing a league game for the first time in more than two weeks. The Sounders were also without MLS All-Star central defender Chad Marshall, who was in a minor auto accident over the weekend and was suffering from back spasms. "It was just one of those days at the office. Better to forget about and move on," Seattle coach Sigi Schmid said. The absence of Marshall was obvious and Seattles defence was disorganized and susceptible to Donovan and the Galaxys attack. Donovan beat the replacement duo of Zach Scott and Jalil Anibaba and left the ball for Zardes to tap in his seventh goal for an early lead. Donovan was then in the right spot to clean up the rebound off Marcelo Sarvas shot in the 18th minute while DeAndre Yedlin was caught watching the ball and lost track of Donovan. Ishizakis goal in the 36th minute drew boos from the sellout crowd and Los Angeles had a number of opportunities to make the final score even more lopsided if not for impressive saves from Frei. Seattle didnt get a clear shot on goal until the 59th minute when Clint Dempseys curling left-footed shot was pushed wide by Jaime Pedeno. Otherwise, Pedeno had a mostly quiet and calm night defending the Los Angeles goal Aside from the rare Monday night matchup, the stadium also suffered a power surge in the opening moments knocking out the stadium lights. There was also a tussle at the end of the first half between Yedlin and Gonzalez that Dempsey joined. The three were teammates for the U.S. at the World Cup. "Its competitive and our team wasnt going to back down," Donovan said. Custom Washington Redskins Jerseys .85 million contract with the two-time Gold Glove outfielder. Horford knocked down a 20-foot jumper with 4.2 seconds left and the Hawks rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second half, stunning the Dallas Mavericks 88-87 on Friday night. "I had that shot before, and I didnt take it," Horford said. "Shelvin (Mack, a Hawks guard) kept telling me, Thats your shot. You need to shoot it. When the opportunity came again, I knocked it down." Jeff Teague scored 25 points for the Hawks, while Horford finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Mavericks were up 70-55 when point guard Jose Calderon went out late in the third quarter with an injured right ankle. X-rays were negative but he did not return. Without Calderon running the offence, Dallas totally bogged down. Rookie guard Shane Larkin had a miserable night, going 0 for 4 from the field and turning it over four times. The Mavericks hit just 38 per cent, with Vince Carter missing badly on the final shot of the game. "Calderon is a big part of what they do," said Hawks forward Paul Millsap, who hit a huge 3-pointer over Dirk Nowitzki with 1:16 remaining to give the Hawks a chance. "Without him on the court, it kind of helped us out." Atlanta snapped a three-game losing streak and climbed back above .500 at 9-8. The Mavericks made 3 of 19 shots in the final quarter, their last field goal coming on Shawn Marions jumper with 5:05 remaining for an 85-77 lead. Dallas managed only two more points the rest of the way, a pair of free throws by DeJuan Blair with 3:27 left. Atlanta scored the final seven points, capped by Horfords jumper after the defence sagged away from him near the top of the key. "Jeff tried to attack and they kind of backed off," Horford said. "I just took what the defence gave me." Calderon and Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 16 points apiece, while Marion chipped in with 15. It was a brutal loss for Dallas, which dipped to 2-6 on the road. "They play good in their house," Marion said. "But still, we should have won this game." Calderon wasnt even sure when he injureed his ankle, saying it happened sometime in the first half and kept getting worse.dddddddddddd Calderon hopes to return when the Mavericks host Minnesota on Saturday night. "I dont know if somebody hit me or I hit the floor," Calderon said. "Thats why its kind of weird. Teague carried much of the load for the Hawks, bouncing back from a four-point effort in a loss to Houston. He kept getting to the foul line, doled out six assists and didnt turn it over until he lost the ball out of bounds with about 2 1/2 minutes remaining. Lou Williams made his first start for the Hawks since coming back from knee surgery that kept him out much of last season and the first few weeks of this season. He scored a season-high 12 points. The Hawks jumped out to a 23-18 lead in the first quarter, but the Mavericks scored the final 10 points of the period to lead at the break. Dallas got much of its production beyond the arc, making 6 of 7 from 3-point range. Calderon went 3 for 3, Marion hit a pair of long-range jumpers and Carter chipped in with one. Nowitzki missed all three of his shots and was held scoreless in the opening quarter. But he warmed up in the second, knocking down Dallas first six points for a 16-0 run that extended the lead to 34-23. The Mavericks maintained a double-digit edge through most of the second and third quarters, going to the final period up 75-64. Their biggest lead was 66-49 midway through the third. NOTES: Kyle Korver skipped his second straight game with bruised ribs, again delaying his quest to set an NBA record for consecutive games with a 3-point basket. He remains at 88 in a row, one shy of the mark set by Dana Barrow from Dec. 23, 1994-Jan. 10, 1996, with Philadelphia and Boston. Korver was receiving treatment during the game, but the Hawks werent sure if hed be on a road trip to Washington and San Antonio. ...
