Each week, TSN.ca takes a look at the top storylines in the NFL and gives you all you need to know heading into Sundays action. All in! Breaking the 7-5 logjam Six teams in the AFC are tied for the final wild card spot with a 7-5 record, three in the AFC North alone. The quickest way to break that logjam down the regular season stretch is head-to-head matchups amongst the six teams. That’s what we get when the Baltimore Ravens travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. Neither team has inspired much confidence of late. The Ravens are coming off a loss and haven’t beaten an above .500 team since Week 3. The Dolphins won last week, but only barely against a brutal New York Jets team. Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill has impressed this season, and it’s looking like he could be the real deal. It will be interesting to see how he plays down the stretch in a high-pressure situation. The big games for him start Sunday against the Ravens. Hanging On The Bills are hanging in there. After a disheartening loss to the Dolphins two weeks ago, Buffalo ripped off back-to-back wins against the Jets and Browns and are now tied for the final wild card spot with five other teams. They were perhaps prematurely written off after losing to Miami but if they can’t get by the Broncos – and Vegas sure doesn’t think they will – it may actually be time to start thinking about next year. Another team just holding on, but in a much different situation, is the Arizona Cardinals. A couple weeks ago the Cardinals were the NFL’s sweetheart with a league-best 9-1 record. Two Drew Stanton starts later and Arizona looking over their shoulder at the Seahawks (one game behind) and the 49ers (two games behind). Like the Bills, the Cardinals face a strong AFC West team in the Kansas City Chiefs. NFC Heavyweight Battle At least the Cardinals can take solace in the fact Seattle has a tough matchup as well. The Seahawks take on the NFC East leading Philadelpia Eagles and their 6-0 home record. Seattle’s road record is only mediocre but if there’s a defence to make Eagles’ QB Mark Sanchez look like Jets’ QB Mark Sanchez, it’s the Seahawks’. Seattle has the top overall defence and is third best against the pass. They also have one of the league’s best turnover ratios. If Sanchez can find a way to win Sunday, he may have a job for the rest of the year and into the playoffs. Something to Prove? The Chargers should be feeling pretty good about themselves after last week. They squeaked out a win against the Ravens, their third in a row, to take sole possession of the first wild card spot. Their reward for the big week is a home game, nice, but against a New England Patriots team that has lots to prove. The Pats are coming off a hard fought loss to the Green Bay Packers in what many dubbed a Super Bowl preview. They also have no wiggle room left for the first overall seed in the AFC now with matching records with the Broncos. Battle atop the AFC North It sounds weird to say, but the AFC North is tied for the best division in football. All four teams are above .500 and have combined for 29 wins on the season. That’s part of what makes this underrated rivalry game even better. Thanks to a three-game win streak the Bengals are a half-point out of a first round bye while the Steelers, also one of the 7-5 six, are at risk of not making the playoffs at all. Cincy has one of the better defences in the league and will need a big game to stop Big Ben, Le’Veon Bell, and the surprisingly high-powered Steelers offence. Ray Lewis Jersey .J. Ellis hit an RBI single in the ninth inning, Hanley Ramirez hit a tape-measure, three-run homer in the first against Cliff Lee and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Saturday night. Joe Flacco Jersey . Alfredo Simon lowered his ERA to 0.86, and the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 Friday for their 16th win in their last 17 games at the Friendly Confines. http://www.officialbaltimoreravenspro.com/Customized/ . -- Manchester United thrilled a record crowd with a brilliant opening goal -- and even Cristiano Ronaldos unexpected entrance proved futile for Real Madrid. Lamar Jackson Jersey . For the first time all night, as the Raptors were on the clock to make the 20th overall selection, no one had the slightest idea what was about to happen. No leaks, no whispers, nothing. Baltimore Ravens Jerseys . CNN and Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Tancredi Palmeri broke the news via Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Italian Football Association President Giancarlo Abete has also resigned, according to Palmeri.MINNEAPOLIS -- With their rotation depleted and the new slugger sidelined by a rash of injuries, the Texas Rangers have been forced to find alternate methods for winning. Its working quite well in late May. Leonys Martin doubled twice and scored three times, including the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, and the Rangers beat Minnesota Twins 5-4 on Thursday to win their second straight four-game series on the road. "Those guys have had to grind, and everybody has had to have been used," said manager Ron Washington, who has seen starting pitchers Matt Harrison, Derek Holland and Martin Perez and first baseman Prince Fielder hit the disabled list as well as key hitters Jurickson Profar, Geovany Soto and others. "So thats the way you play team baseball, and thats exactly what were doing." Shin-Soo Choo hit a three-run double in the second for the Rangers, but the Twins took a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning on Josh Willinghams first home run of the season, a no-doubt drive to the second deck above left-centre field. Then the role players took over for the Rangers. Alexi Ogando (2-2) got four outs for the victory, and Joakim Soria retired the last two batters for his 10th save. Soria saved the last two games of the series after he had his first blown chance of the season in Tuesdays 4-3 loss. Martin hit a leadoff double in the eighth against Casey Fien (3-2), moved up on a sacrifice bunt and sprinted home on a sacrifice fly by Rougned Odour, beating a sweep tag by catcher Josmil Pinto. The throw by centre fielder Danny Santana, a rookie shortstop playing out of position, was off the plate and up the line. "He has to make a perfect throw to throw me out in that situation," Martin said. The Rangers tied it at 4 when Martin doubled and scored on Robinson Chirinos single in the sixth. Samuel Deduno gave up nine hits while striking out two and was removed with one out in that inning. With eight wins in their last 11 games, including three of four at Detroit last week, the Rangers have begun to find theeir stride.dddddddddddd That was evident in the second inning, when bases-loaded, nobody-out situations for both teams went opposite ways. Deduno moved within one strike of escaping without any damage after an infield popup and a strikeout. But Choo, who served as the designated hitter to give his sore left ankle a break from left field with the short turnaround from the night before, drove a 2-2 curveball down the left-field line. "I have to be better," Deduno said. Alex Rios, who stretched his hitting streak to 12 games, started that rally with a sharp single. Martin scored easily from first base to put the Rangers ahead 3-0. "I was thinking home plate all the way," Martin said. Nick Martinez dodged trouble in the bottom of the frame when Pinto sent a soft roller back to the mound. After a short throw home for a forceout, Martinez got Eduardo Escobar to line hard into a double play. The rookie was charged with more than three earned runs for the first time in five starts. He allowed nine hits and walked two in 5 2-3 innings. "It was a learning experience for him today, to go out there and keep his team in the ballgame when he didnt have his best stuff. That was awesome right there," Washington said. Trevor Plouffe and Willingham hit RBI singles in the third, but the Twins have only 14 runs in their last seven games, going 6 for 52 with runners in scoring position. "Thats the main focus, getting guys on, but we cant get them in," second baseman Brian Dozier said. NOTES: Washington held SS Elvis Andrus out of the lineup to rest for the first time this season. ... Deduno walked Martin, ending a streak by Twins pitchers of 131 straight batters without an unintentional walk. ... The Rangers start a three-game series Friday at Washington, with RHP Colby Lewis (4-3, 5.10 ERA) pitching opposite Nationals RHP Stephen Strasburg (3-4, 3.42 ERA). ... The Twins will be in New York for three games, with RHP Ricky Nolasco (2-5, 6.12 ERA) taking the mound Friday against Yankees LHP Vidal Nuno (1-1, 5.49 ERA).
